Muskegon River and Grand River Steelhead Fishing

3/1/12 Steelhead fishing has been good on the Grand River near and upstream of Grand Rapids and on the Muskegon River.  The recent rains have brought the rivers up and the Grand River is currently pretty stained up.    Fishing should be great over the next few weeks so give us a call to book a trip on the Muskegon River, Grand River, PM, Rogue, or White River before the crowds come out.  When I get some time I will upload some more pics.

Michigan Steelhead Fishing

1/17/12 Steelhead fishing here in Michigan has been going great for the month of January.  Most of the rivers on the west side of Michigan have been putting out good numbers.  The Pere Marquette River, Grand River, and Muskegon River have been fishing well for us lately, we have been catching lots of big fish.  Float Fishing has been our method of choice but we have been taking Steelhead on a number of different techniques.  The weather is going to cool down for a few days but then it looks like it is going to be back up in the high 30s to 40s again.  Give us a call to get out this winter, we still have lots of open Steelhead dates in January, February, and March.  Below is a sampling of the fish that we have been catching lately.

Muskegon River Steelhead Fishing

1/4/12  After taking a few days off from fishing I was back out today on the Muskegon River.  Fishing was good for us today while Centerpin fishing with floats and spawn, my first drift of the New Year produced a nice little colored up male and we had a couple doubles this afternoon.  We found a handful of chrome fish mixed in with the darker fish today, some of the fish must not have received the memo that it is January as they were still taking some good long runs and jumping around like it was November.  Most of the 10 day forecast looks great and the fishing should remain good.  Below are a few pictures from today.

Muskegon River Steelhead Fishing

12/1/11 Fishing on the Muskegon River has been good, we did not get into the numbers that we did yesterday but we still put a good number of nice fish into the boat.  The Muskegon River should fish good atleast through out the month with the amount of fish that are around.  The Grand River is still rising from the last batch of rain that came through, I have heard reports that the upper stretches of the Grand River are fishing well right now.  Call us for a Winter Steelhead Fishing Guide Trip on the Muskegon River or Grand River.

Muskegon River and Grand River Steelhead Fishing

10/24/11 Steelhead fishing on the Grand River and Muskegon River has been great, we are still catching big numbers of fish.  They have been supercharged and cartwheeling in the air like crazy.  We have been catching most of our fish float fishing and backbouncing with some plug fish thrown in.  We are still catching the occasional King Salmon and there are some nice Lake Run Browns and Lake Trout around as well.  Fishing should be great for the rest of the fall and into winter with the numbers that we have around.

Michigan Steelhead and Salmon Fishing is Here!

10/1/11 Well October is here and so are the Steelhead.  We have been putting good numbers of King Salmon into the boat most days float fishing skein and while fishing with crankbaits and hooking many more.  We are starting to see more Steelhead around as well and hooking into them here and there while targeting Salmon.  If you are looking to get out and search for some early chrome Steelhead give me a call as we have some openings from the 10th thru the 13th of October.  Below are a few sample pictures of what we have been catching over the past few days.

West Michigan King Salmon River Fishing

9/25/11  King Salmon Fishing around West Michigan has been on fire the past few weeks.  The Pere Marquette, White, and Muskgeon Rivers have all been fishing well, the Grand River has had a decent run of Coho, Kings, and a few Steelhead.  We have tied into some real monsters lately, I have had a lot of clients lately complaining of sore arms from battling some of these brute Kings.  We have been hooking lots of fish most days and landing a lot of fish most days.  Today was a little slower with the rain that fell, it seemed to have had the fish wanting to move more than anything.  We have been catching all of our fish on Crankbaits and while fishing Bobbers and Skein.  Fihing should continue to be good for Kings for the next few weeks and then we will start fishing Steelhead for the most part but still offering King Salmon Fishing Trips.  Call Now to get in on the action!

Pere Marquette River Fishing

August 24 2011

I have been out on the river a couple of days this past week and the fishing has been decent for King Salmon.  We have been hooking into a good number of fish but landing them is another story.  We have been hooking our fish on crankbaits and float fishing bait.  The rain that we had the other night really had the fish pushing upstream on the 24th, the fish that we seen were moving through pretty fast.  Call now to book your September and October King Salmon Fishing Trips!

King Salmon Fishing August 15 2011

We are catching good numbers of King Salmon and Coho on Lake Michigan out of Muskegon.  It has been a good mix of big 4 year old Kings, nice sized Coho, immature Kings, Steelhead, and Lake Trout.  Fishing has been good anywhere from 40 foot of water to out past 200 foot of water.
