Spring Steelhead Fishing on the Grand River and Muskegon River

Spring Steelhead have been showing up on the Grand River and Muskegon River over the past couple of weeks.  Water levels have been high and dirty on the Grand River but should drop as long as we do not get a bunch of rain.  The Muskegon has been running high with a good color but we have not seen a big run of fresh fish yet.  Fishing has been good on some of the smaller rivers around around West Michigan with a mix of spawned out fish, fresh fish, and darker winter fish.  The 6th street dam area in Grand Rapids should start heating up for biting fish as the water clears.  We have been catching our fish on both spawn bags and beads lately, plugs have caught fish when we have put the time into plugging as well.  I still have a few days left this spring and if I do not have the day open that you need I can see if another one of the guides that I work with does.  If you are interested in a walk in or a trip on a smaller river in a 3 person Stealth craft hooligan xl raft those trips are available through Getting Bit Guide Service as well.  I will try to get up some fresh pictures as well when I get some more free time.

I am booking Smallmouth trips at this time as well for later this Spring and Summer so if you would like to book a trip for those get with me.  We can do trips on the larger rivers out of the jet boat or we can fish smaller water from a fishing raft.
